Laugh your way to a better marriage

We spent this past weekend in Williamsburg, Virginia at an Army sponsored marriage retreat. This is the 3rd retreat we've been on, and it was the best one by far! We went through a marriage series by Mark Gungor called "Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage". We thought that it would be about how to make your spouse laugh and how to laugh at yourself.... but it was actually a funny take on marriage. Mark Gungor is a pastor/comedian and he explained the differences between men and women from a very hilarious point of view. If you are married or engaged, I would HIGHLY recommend his book. Ryan and I learned some great things and were able to see our marriage from a new perspective.

We were also excited because the retreat was at The Great Wolf Lodge! We had been wanting to go there for a while, but it is on the pricey side, so we hadn't been able to save up the money. We were so happy when we found out that the Army would pay for us to go stay there! And provide us with meals and childcare! Thanks, Uncle Sam :) We took full advantage of the indoor waterpark, on-site Starbucks/treat shop, and arcade.

We also had free military tickets to Busch Gardens so we used those on Sunday. It was a little cold and overcast (and it briefly rained), but it was a really fun day. There were very few crowds so we didn't have to wait in any lines! Ryan and I were able to rider-swap on some of the roller coasters, so that made it even more fun. Jax loved all the kiddies rides, plus some of the more adult rides that he was allowed to ride with us... they had very few restrictions, which was great for my daredevil kid. I swear he would go on all the roller coasters if we would let him! I didn't get any good pictures because we were to focused on avoiding the rain enjoying our time :)

This was probably our last hoorah before we become civilians and have to start paying for fun stuff ;)
It was a great time and we definitely made memories to last a lifetime!
